Commonly grown as a baby leaf for salad mixes. The spicy mustard flavour can add quite a kick to a salad mix. Cold tolerant and flavour intensifies as it becomes colder.
Companion plants: Dill, Fennel, Yarrow, Mint, Corn, Peas, Mint, Rosemary, Thyme, Beets, Celery, Carrot, Lettuce, Onion, Cucumber.
Far from: Sunflower, Beans, Strawberry.
Planting tip: Direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked. Harvest leaves as desired.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when leaves are 3” tall by cutting 1” from the ground.
Storage tip: Can be stored in sand in a root cellar at about 1-2°C.
