Greek Oregano | Origanum syriacum | Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada | Annual/Perennial | Open Pollinated | Heirloom

Fragrant, dull green and purple leaves that are used in Greek and Italian cooking. Low-growing perennial that attracts lots of pollinators. Perennial to Zone 4, but survives some winters in Zone 3.

Companion plants: Cucumber, Melon, Pumpkin, Pepper, Squash, Broccoli, Tomato, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Eggplant, Basil.

Far from: Garlic or onions if there are thrips in the garden.

Planting tip: Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil, make sure not to bury them. The seed requires light to germinate. Sow seeds in flat 8-10 weeks before the last frost.

Harvest tip:Harvest when young and tender to eat. Cut the entire plant when coming to bloom just 2” above ground. The plant can be cut 3-5 times during the season.

Storage tip: Keep in a plastic bag in the vegetable section of the fridge for up to 3 days.
