Calendula – Flashback Mix | Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada Calendula officinalis | Annual | Heirloom Astonishing color’s hue of peach, apricot, orange, vanilla and yellow, sometimes bicolored or tricolored, captivating the eye. The undersides of the petals are of darker tones like burgundy, flashy red, or maroon fold up for the night at sunset to reveal these beautiful colors. These flowers are on long, strong stems. Also known as pot marigold, common marigold, and Scotch marigold. Edible calendula’s petals are used fresh or dried in “flower confetti,” soups, soufflés, rice dishes, baked goods, and garnish desserts. Flower base removed before consumption. The plant reaches up to 18-24” in height. Planting tip: Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before planting outside or direct sow in early spring. Pinch back young plants to encourage bushy growth. Keep plants watered, but try to avoid overhead watering as plants are susceptible to mildew. Harvesting tip: Harvest in morning after the dew has dried and when the blossoms are half-open.
